Hi, I’m Sara—fiber artist, designer, and the heart behind Earth, Hand & Fiber. By day, I’m a science professional, but at my core, I’ve always been a maker. For me, crochet is the perfect meeting place of two worlds I love: Precision and Creativity.
There’s something magical about taking a simple strand of yarn
and, stitch by stitch, transforming it into something both beautiful and functional. Crochet is equal parts art and engineering—patterns that loop and flow, textures that tell stories, and designs that are as cozy as they are intentional.

I also love exploring new yarn shops and discovering special places that celebrate fiber art. One of my favorites so far has been the world-famous Crochet Museum in Joshua Tree, CA (pictured)—a quirky, colorful spot that celebrates the joy and creativity of our craft. Finding gems like this always inspires me to keep creating and sharing.
